Sir Harry Djangoly Acquitted

Freeman & Co. can now report that after a great deal of preparation and a hard fought trial, our client Sir Harry Djangoly has been acquitted of dangerous driving and assault.

Represented by Nick Freeman of Freeman & Co. throughout the proceedings, Sir Harry first appeared before Isleworth Crown Cout on 7th July 2015 where he was told that he would be facing a trial for the offences of dangerous driving and assault.

The alleged offence dated back to December 2014 when Sir Harry was driving his Jaguar car on the A40 in Hammersmith, London. The police caused his car to stop as he was allegedly driving at 70mph in a 50mph area.

When his car stopped Sir Harry informed the attending police officer, Sergeant McDonald, that his wife was suffering from chest pains and he was trying to get her to hospital. It has been reported that Sir Harry also said that once he had delivered his wife at hospital he would be happy to deal with the police then.

It was stated that the police office said no to that request and Sir Harry replied that he was going anyway owing to his wife’s condition. It was at this stage in his evidence that Sir Harry said his foot slipped on the brake and his car started to move forward.

In his evidence Sergeant McDonald stated that Sir Harry’s wife showed no signs of breathing difficulties and that Sir Harry just drove off with him (McDonald) handing onto the car.

Sergeant McDonald continued his evidence by stating that he was dragged some 150ft whilst hanging onto the steering wheel if Sir Harry’s car and that he feared for his life. His resulting alleged injury in the incident was a grazed knee.

Following his acquittal, Nick Freeman stated: “Mr Djanogly very much regrets the incident and would like to thank the court and the jury for giving his case such careful consideration.”
